This past weekend, Josh and I drove down to NC for a wedding. It was so great to visit and see friends. We left Friday afternoon so we could beat traffic and hopefully make it to NC before getting bombarded with rain from Irene. It worked! We had a pretty smooth ride. We did hit a little bit of rain, but not much at all and only for a few minutes.
Friday night we went out with our friend AJ and a few of Josh's old RA friends. It was nice to just sit and catch up. It was also weird because the places we used to hang out are changing. It seems that every time we come home something is different. I guess this is just part of life.
Saturday we got up and played with Bailey a lot. We knew we would be out late so we wanted to make sure she was good and tired before we left for the wedding. It wasn't until 5:30 so we had plenty of time to do this. While I was showering and Josh was playing Halo with Eric, Bailey managed to sneak a bite out of Chris' rug :-/ We're going to try to repair this the next time we're in town. I didn't even think to get a picture.
Saturday night we drove to Benson to see our friends Andrew and Kristian get married! I know I've said this before, but weddings are so much more exciting since I got married. I guess because I know how happy I am to be married to my very best friend. I'm so glad that my friends will be able to share that too! I was so excited for them. Luckily, Irene didn't cause any major trouble for them. The outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside and several people were not able to make it because of the weather. Otherwise, you would have never known a hurricane was passing through during the event. We had so much fun at the wedding. We got to hang out with Andrew and Kristian more than I've been able to at any other wedding. The food is great and of course the dancing is always fun. After the wedding, we went back to Chris' and caught up with him a little since he wasn't home the night before.
With Hillary! I LOVED the bridesmaids dresses.
2 very happy couples. :-)
Very Andrew :-)
With Cheryl and the Hutchersons.
We slept in Sunday since we got in so late Saturday night. Sunday was also Josh's 25th birthday so we had a cookout/pool party for him. It was small, but still lots of fun. As always, I barely have any pictures :-/ Eric cooked beer can chicken on the grill and it was amazing. We decided to take Bailey swimming again. It went better than last time, but I still came home with some scratches and bruises.
This was during a calm moment
Look at those grill marks!
There were lots of sticks in the yard because of the wind from the hurricane. She was SO excited to find this big one.

We took off Monday since Josh wouldn't have to spend his birthday driving home. We had intentions on leaving pretty early Monday morning, but we didn't get on the road until about 10. We still got home a little after 3. We hit a bit of traffic and made a few more stops than usual, so it wasn't bad at all. We unpacked and ran a few errands when we got home, then we just relaxed and watched Hall Pass. It was hilarious.
It was a busy, but still very fun weekend! I was a little sad coming home because we won't be going back to Raleigh until Thanksgiving weekend. I've never really been sad leaving until this time, I usually just don't feel like riding all the way home. I know I'm definitely not ready to move back yet, I just wasn't quite ready to leave yet.
I LOVE the dress you wore to the wedding! I must see it when we come visit. Such a pretty color and very pretty on you :D
ReplyDeleteWish we could have been there to celebrate Josh's birthday with y'all, but we'll make up for it when we come visit. haha
Y'all got a doggy car hammock!? We love ours! We put ours on backwards by accident one day and he fell into the hammock part and had a really hard time getting up. it was really funny.
