Friday Favorites!!!

1) Golf Outing - Last Friday was our company golf outing. It was a gorgeous day and I got to drive a golf cart around for the majority of it! We found a HUGE turtle on the course!

2) Beer Release Party - Last Friday, we had a beer release party at our place. It was for our Belgian Pale Ale, 1st Base. It's pretty good. We ended up having a couple friends come over a little later, once everyone else had gone. We ended up hanging out with them WAY past our bedtime.

3) Lunch Date - Last Saturday we decided to go to Bobby Flay's burger restaurant, Bobby's Burger Palace. We have wanted to try it since the casino came last year and we finally got around to it! The food was really good. We walked around the mall a little and had a nice time. We decided to pick up a movie on the way home. We decided on Life of Pi. I started reading this book about a year and a half ago and I still have not finished it. It's actually the first book I put on my Kindle. We were not impressed with the movie at all. I don't think I'll ever finish the book. Haha.

4) Dog Park - We found a dog park that's only about 5 minutes from our house! It's not as big or as nice as the one we go to in Annapolis, but it's a good 20 minutes or so closer. It's perfect for during the week or short trips to get her some exercise. We've taken her 3 times since we found it. The first time, there were no other dogs, but she still got a chance to play. The other 2 times she met other dogs. I'm SO glad we found this park!

5) Running - I slacked on running for a week or so, but I've finally gotten back on track. I'm on week 6 of my 5K training. Just 2 more to go after this week! I'm up to 12 minute intervals. I can tell a huge difference in my endurance from when I first started. I also ordered a new pinch collar for Bailey, and she is a million times better to run with now! YAY!

6) Hanging out - We had friends over after work on Thursday. We rarely do anything during the week, so it was really exciting. We had such a great time, even though we were both exhausted Friday.

7) Gone Girl - I just finished this book today. It's great! I highly recommend it!

And a not so favorite - We have to replace our heat pump. We have a home warranty, but they only want to pay to replace the compressor. They are covering a little bit of it, so it helps, but not nearly as much as I expected. On the bright side, we should save money on our electric bill.

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday y'all!!! This week seemed to take forever! This is a few weeks worth of favorites.

1) Sherry's Wedding - We drove down to NC for Sherry's wedding the Friday before last. We stayed at Anna and John's apartment Friday night, then drove to Greensboro with AJ and Kristen for the wedding on Saturday. We actually messed up and didn't make it to the ceremony. The reception hall and the church were 30 minutes away. After we missed an exit, we were going to be getting to the ceremony right on time. Well, we put the address to the reception hall in the GPS. We realized it when we were only 5 minutes away. The ceremony was going to be starting any minute and it was another 25 minutes away! We went to the reception all and helped make punch. I felt really bad about missing the ceremony. That's never happened to me...did I mention that I was supposed to be delivering the necklace that the bride was supposed to wear?

Congrats Sherry & Aaron!

2) Saturday morning breakfast date - Josh and I decided to get up early and go out for breakfast before the wedding. We decided to go to Another Broken Egg in Morrisville. That is an area we would potentially consider when we move back to NC, so we wanted to check it out. We really enjoyed breakfast and checking the area out a little bit.

3) Our pups - We dog sat Friday night while we were at Anna and John's. Josh and I were both exhausted by the time we got to Raleigh. The dogs were well rested and ready to play. We let them play for an hour then we went to bed. That was a challenge. I finally got them to stop playing around 12:30...then they woke me up again playing at 5. I really couldn't be mad at them though. They were so cute and so happy to see each other. I love watching them play together.

Carter kept looking out the window while we were waiting on AJ and Kristen to come pick us up.

4) Friends - After the wedding, we hung out with the Martins and the Klingenmaiers. We were all completely exhausted, but we still toughed it out and had a great time. It is always great catching up with everyone.

5) Short work week - Last week was only a 2 day work week! It was planned to be a 3 day week since Josh's brother's baby was set to be induced Wednesday morning. We had originally decided to drive down Wednesday after work. Tuesday night around 7:00, we decided to drive down that night. We left home around 9:30 and got to Josh's mom's at 4:15, shortly before she left to go to the hospital.

6) Our new niece, Milena - After a LONG day of labor, baby Milena joined our family. She was finally born on May 2 at 12:22 am. She was 6 pounds and 5 ounces .
Uncle Josh holding his new niece. (See how he holds babies? This is how he held Natalia when she was a baby too.)

7) Firehouse Wings - St. Pauls has a restaurant that you can buy beer at! This may not seem like a big deal, but it is. Up until I was in High School, you couldn't buy beer in the town at all! Even once grocery stores were allowed to have it, restaurants still didn't. We found the place by accident and we decided to stop in for lunch and a beer. While we were there, some friends from high school came in! We hadn't seen them since I graduated in 2005! It was really nice catching up and enjoying the small town life for a little bit.

8) I reached my goal weight!!!
